ITK was founded four decades ago by Univ. Prof. Dr. Martha Eibl  It was founded and laid an important foundation in the care of people with immunodeficiency who wish to have children. Since then, ITK and its care concept have been continuously developed.

A weakened immune system puts a significant strain on our bodies. They are unable to adequately defend themselves against the daily attacks of viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens. This results in frequent, severe, and unusual infections. These infections impair quality of life and can also lead to further complications and long-term damage.

Our contribution

Our broad range of specialized immunological tests enables us to identify and precisely characterize a wide variety of known immunodeficiencies, including rare diseases. Together with the patients and their treating physicians, we develop an optimal treatment plan. Timely and accurate diagnosis of a congenital or acquired immunodeficiency, combined with appropriate therapy, means a more active and fulfilling life for these individuals.

Our international collaboration with renowned centers in Europe and the USA spans several decades. Our extensive experience in evaluating immunological tests enables us to optimally utilize the results for individualized therapy. The mere appearance of a symptom can be a sign of a congenital immunodeficiency.

1. Eight or more ear infections within six months.
2. Two or more sinus infections within one year.
3. Two or more months of antibiotic treatment without much effect.
4. Two or more cases of pneumonia within one year.
5. Poor growth, weight loss plateau in infants.
6. Recurring abscesses in the skin or other organs.
7. Persistent fungal infections in the mouth or on the skin after the first year of life.
8. Treatment with intravenous antibiotics for infections.
9. Two or more serious infections.
10. Previously known congenital immunodeficiency in the family.

Our immune system is a complex system, and immunological factors play a major role in the implantation process. A disrupted immune mechanism can reduce the implantation capacity of the uterine lining.

In some women, the immune system reacts too strongly, and this can lead to problems with embryo implantation.

We will therefore arrange for a comprehensive immunodiagnostic evaluation through a blood test. This will form the basis for finding a suitable immune strategy for you.

A variety of treatment methods are available for the therapy of immune disorders, ranging from special infusion therapies to immunomodulatory growth factors.

1. Laboratory analysis

   Adults and children with a high susceptibility to infections or suspected immunological disorders can schedule an appointment independently at our private practice. If you wish to submit the invoice to your health insurance company for partial reimbursement, you will need a referral, as ITK, being a private clinic, does not have a contract with health insurance providers. At our private practice, the fee covers both the physician’s services and the ITK laboratory services. A preliminary cost estimate will be discussed with you.

   The medical services consist of Medical history raise Advice, Blood draw for immunological Special analysis, Discussion of findings and immunomodulating Therapy or immunoreplacement therapy. The laboratory analysis is carried out in cooperation with ARCHIMEDlife GmbH.

   Specialist physicians can send blood samples or patients to the ICT department.

   Hospitals and institutes can request and send the blood sample for analysis.

2. Report preparation including interpretation. The specialized immunological analyses sometimes take up to… six weeks. The turnaround time for results is method-specific and depends on the medical question and its urgency. Please contact us by phone if you have an urgent question. The ITK team has a national and international team of experts, in order to be able to offer a broad spectrum at the highest level and according to the latest scientific standards.
3. Patients or referring physicians receive a written Report of findings The results will be sent by post. Sending results by email to patients is not possible for data protection reasons.
4. The Discussion of findings Therapy management is either handled by the referring physician or takes place within the framework of the private immunology practice. At the ITK private clinic, only findings collected in-house are interpreted.

We have NO HEALTH INSURANCE CONTRACTS!

You submit your claim for reimbursement to your health insurance company or private insurance provider. The amount of reimbursement depends on your health insurance company or insurance provider, and the Immunology Day Clinic has no influence on it.
During your outpatient visit, an individual laboratory analysis will be compiled. Therefore, it is important to bring any existing test results with you. A cost estimate for the laboratory analysis will then be agreed upon with you.
Since we offer personalized medicine at ITK, the final fee cannot be paid at the start of treatment. Immunological testing is sometimes conducted in stages. A baseline assessment is often performed first. Depending on the results, further analyses from the same sample may be requested. Because only paid fees can be submitted to the health insurance provider, ITK cannot currently handle the reimbursement application for you.

To submit the Invoice When submitting your medical report to your health insurance company, you will need the following:

1. Referral from a general practitioner or specialist to the ITK at the time the service was provided.
2. You will receive an invoice with a detailed breakdown of the costs for the laboratory services provided. This will be sent to you by mail from ITK after the results report is completed, or you can pick it up in person at ITK. For data protection reasons, it cannot be sent by email.
3. You will receive a separate invoice for the medical services. You can pay the fee for the treatment either on-site by debit or credit card, or by bank transfer. Afterwards, you can submit this invoice to your health insurance provider for partial reimbursement.
4. The deposit slip must also be submitted.

Tip: Submit your invoice online
With almost all health insurance funds – Austrian Health Insurance Fund, BVA, SVA – you can also submit invoices online.
The only requirement: You need a mobile phone signature (ID-Austria) for access.

Please fill out the online form and upload the invoice – as a scan or photo.
